Empty Space features two people who are rarely represented in films; an overweight young man and a blind girl who find in one another a space to discover themselves amidst an often unkind world.
Empty Space was produced in Chicago and shot entirely on location in small towns across western Illinois.
Synopsis: Tom, an overweight young man takes refuge at his grandmother’s cabin in rural Protection, IL, in an attempt to bury the years of being bullied and feeling rejected. While in town, he meets a precocious blind girl named Lilly, who shows him how to be accepted and loved.
Premiering at the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival this April! JulienFilmFest.com

Come see me as professional bingo caller Bucky Fuller in We Gotta Bingo! Head to Der Brew-Ha-Ha for a raucous evening of dinner, dancing, drinking and, of course, bingo! Guests will meet a colorful cast of characters leading the evening in games and good-natured fun, but soon learn they are amongst two rival Chicago parishes, one Italian and one Irish, who are set to be merged with one another. Since neither church can support the expanding congregation by itself, they’ve agreed to meet tonight to raise the needed money the best way they know how – playing Bingo! Of course, this ain’t no regular Bingo night! In between games, you’ll have time for a delicious family-style Italian dinner and enjoy musical interludes where you’ll hear the fine voices of competing parish choir directors and, let’s not forget, dancing to the musical stylings of The Voekel Chords. Come get lucky with We Gotta Bingo, suitable for all ages! Click the picture above for more information and tickets.
